James Comey Avoids Charges -- In Lieu Of Bigger Ones Still To Come Yesterday, investigative journalist John Solomon of The Hill broke an exclusive story discussing the investigation into former FBI director James Comey. According to Solomon, "Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz's team referred Comey for prosecution under the classified information protection laws, but Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors working for Attorney General William Barr reportedly have decided to decline prosecution -- a decision that's likely to upset Comey's conservative critics." Apparently the DOJ prosecutors thought Horowitz's evidence was compelling, but decided not to bring charges because they felt that there was not enough evidence to show Comey's intent.
