On June 26, 2019 government watchdog Judicial Watch published an article outlining how the Nicaraguan military stopped four suspected ISIS members from entering our country illegally. The individuals who were captured were, 33 year old Mohamed Ibrahim, 26 year old Mahmoud Samy Eissa of Egypt, 41 year old Ahmed Ghanim Mohamed Al Jubury, and 29 year old Mustafa Ali Mohamed Yaoob of Iraq.

According to the report, the four men entered Costa Rica legally, but that's when things got off the rails. Costa Rica's national security chief, Michael Soto said, "confidential information from an unknown source" made officials aware of these men's "criminal" engagements. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed that the United States informed them of the plot to sneak across the border. Due to the fact that the men legally entered Costa Rica, Nicaragua sent the men back to Costa Rica.

Judicial Watch goes on to explain how this is part of their ongoing investigation into the issues of the southern border.
"Judicial Watch has for years uncovered evidence of Islamic terrorists infiltrating the U.S. through Mexico as part of an ongoing investigation into the national security crisis created by the dangerously porous southern border."

   They also noted:

"Judicial Watch’s reporting has confirmed that ISIS has a training cell just a few miles from El Paso, Texas in an area known as “Anapra” situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. We also verified that Mexican drug cartels are smuggling foreigners from countries with terrorist links to stash areas in a rural Texas town (Acala) near El Paso. "

They also refer to a reported story about a captured ISIS fighter from a few weeks ago. The Syrian Democratic Forces captured Abu Henricki as well as 160 other ISIS fighters. Henricki explained the plot to sneak into the United States, which included the help of people inside the United States.

"They were going to move me to the Mexican side [of the U.S. southern border] via Puerto Rico,” This was mastermind[ed] by a guy in America. Where he is, I do not know. That information, the plan came from someone from the New Jersey state from America. I was going to take a boat [from Puerto Rico] into Mexico. He was going to smuggle me in"

We suggest you take the time out to read Judicial Watch's full article, as well as the rest of their articles about the threats to the southern border to get the full picture of how serious the situation really is.
